Busy Busy Busy

First of all.... Sorry I've not blogged lately. I've been crazy busy with all sorts of things before I leave. So I will try and update ya on whats going on so far...
I've been trying to fit in all my doctor visits and get all my prescriptions and stuff which has cost me a small fortune... Just 12 Malaria pills today cost me like 40 some bucks. So a small fortune on pills has been spent. I've got a dentist visit on Wednesday to get a cavity filled and my bridge put back in. I've been to the hygentist. I bought contacts to last me while I'm gone. I feel like all I do is drive to winston and look around at everything... A huge stressor was what to do with a cell phone. I went to Verizon... The Droid doesn't work in Haiti. I would have to buy a new phone, sign up a new line to get one at a decent price...blah blah blah. They don't do deals in Haiti for minutes right now... So I'm going with AT&T. I guess Verizon felt bad because they are letting my switch around stuff and dropping my plan to 20.00 a month while I'm gone. But to get a phone with AT&T without a contract is RIDICLIOUS!!!! so I'm hoping some kind soul will have one I can use and will donate one to me.

I bought my hiking back pack today. That was exciting. These sporting good places (except for Sports Authority) have given me 15% off stuff since I am going to Haiti so that's cool. Just fyi... you can't get a big pink hiking bag. So we ordered Orange. I went and looked at Netbooks today at a few places. Sam's has a pink Dell so that's kind of exciting.

Big News is that I got to go to the Adventures In Missions Office in Gainesville Georgia this past Friday and Saturday. They were having a training for their summer project leaders. I met some cool people who were on fire for God and they were really encouraging to me. Now thats not to say they didn't scare me a little... Just ask me sometime about my little cheer I learned! hahaha. But it was good to meet the people I've been on the phone with and the Director for Haiti in the US. They were a really cool staff with a really neat office area. It was fun to have a lil mini road trip by myself before I left. It took me like 4 hours to get there and I took a GPS and I missed my exit twice with it on. So yeah... I'm not the best with those things!

Sunday was my last youth meeting and we had a small group since this time of the year is really busy with my kids. We had a campfire and roasted hotdogs which was a lot of fun. I'm going to miss these kids. Today I went to see the High School's Musical...Suessical. I had two kids in the play. Plus some of my lil kids were actually there and I got to see them! I just love that part of ministry. Seeing the kids light up when they realized it was me there and having the other kids asking them who I was after they hugged me and I talked to them is so much fun! I'm going to miss ALL my kids at Deep Creek!

As hard as it is to leave these kids it is exciting to know what an adventure I'm getting ready to begin. I'm having to delay my leaving because of plane ticket costs so it looks like I will be flying out on Friday March 12.

well that's all I have for now... I'm exhausted so i'm hoping I will be able to sleep in just a little bit tomorrow! It's supposed to snow all day and I hope some of it sticks cuz it would be nice to have some snow cream before I leave! I won't be seeing Snow for a while!
